We are talking "Top 10 Wedding Photographer of 2009" talented. She was kind enough to feature us on her blog recently, giving away some Vita Dolce chocolate to a very deserving contest winner. Read about the contest, the truly inspirational submissions, and all about Jasmine on her blog at jasminestarblog.com or check out more about her work on her site at jasmine-star.com. Here are some of Jasmine's kind words:

Speaking of awesome, I came across Vita Dolce Chocolate a couple weeks ago and I fell in love. I read two adventurous girls started making their own chocolate (based from an Italian grandmother's recipe no less!), created a business, and branded it well...and I was sold! I adore hearing business success stories and I firmly believe Jessica and Dana have it going on! I ordered a box of chocolates (okay, okay, I ordered a few) and my mouth was in heaven!

Check it all out at Jasmine's blog.

Amy Wenzel Photography Blog Amy Wenzel is a little photographer based in Grand Rapids, MI...who just so happens to be brilliant. Not just good - brilliant! To be honest, Amy is a dear friend of ours, but we are not being biased in this case. Her work speaks for itself. Check her out at www.amywenzel.com or on her blog at blog.amywenzel.com. Amy recently blogged about Vita Dolce, and here's some of what she had to say:

Jessie is the mastermind chef behind Vita Dolce: Chocolates for the Sweet Life. Let me just tell you, these are some of the best truffles I have ever tasted. I was floored at how amazing they were the first time I tasted her brilliance. Now I crave them and wish my refrigerator was stock full of them anytime I get a sweet tooth after dinner. You will just have to try them for yourself by ordering a box of the mouth watering truffles for Easter. And for all you brides to be, these chocolates also make amazing wedding favors. Vita Dolce ships anywhere in the U.S. and their packaging is so cute!

Pearl's Events Blog Aletha VanderMaas, Michigan wedding planner extraordinaire of Pearl's Events, recently featured us on her blog. If you are looking for a style-savvy voice of experience to help with your wedding, we highly recommend that you check out Pearl's Events. You can start at www.pearlsevents.com. Here's what Aletha had to say about us:

Last week I received a fabulous tip from Lisa Kae in my inbox. I opened the email to see these gorgeous treats from Grand Rapids' own Vita Dolce Chocolates. I headed on over to their website and was delightfully surprised with with picture-perfect chocolates, which any guest would devour before the main course.

I immediately sent an email to owners Jessica and Dana to see if they'd give me some more info on their treats, and within days I couldn't wait to meet them! Dana and I did a Q+A together, which I hope you enjoy as much as I enjoyed the chocolates...

Food For Thought Magazine Our local magazine celebrating all things cuisine, "Food For Thought," recently wrote a story on us. Read on below for the story. You can visit "Food For Thought" at www.foodforthoughtgr.com.

It’s a sweet life for Grand Rapids’ newest chocolatiers, Jessica Stroven and Dana Parent. So sweet that they named their business Vita Dolce, Italian for "sweet life."

The women grew up together in Jackson watching Jessica’s Italian mom make her own chocolates. After attending GVSU, they both settled in Grand Rapids. Jessica continued the family tradition, making candy with her daughter. When Jessica provided handmade chocolates for Dana’s wedding this May, the two friends were inspired to start a business based on these special occasion confections.

With Jessica as chocolatier and Dana as business manager (Jessica’s husband, Nathen, is the official taster), Vita Dolce Chocolates went online in November selling molded shapes in white, milk or dark chocolate, as well as a line of hand-dipped truffles.

Artisan chocolates are available with designs applied in colored cocoa butter. Ideal as favors for weddings or other special occasions, these confections are available in a variety of designs and colors. Vita Dolce truffles are available in 10 flavors, including rich espresso, intensely fruity raspberry, nut-based peanut butter or hazelnut, and perennial favorites caramel and mint. In 8-piece boxes, molded chocolates are $10.00 and truffles are $12.00, and can be shipped anywhere in the U.S.
